Character Development

This year we have decided to teach Character Education in the form of monthly traits. We have assigned one character trait to each of the 10 months of the school year. These traits will be taught through games, discussions, activities, modeling, and reinforcing that trait throughout the month. Our faculty worked together to identify these traits which will be taught from Kindergarten all the way through 8th grade at Endeavour Middle School.

None of these character traits will exist without the others, and we wanted to create a way to introduce them one at a time. The school year started with the trait of “kindness.” We are sure you have heard about our school kindness wreath. It has been inspiring to hear students exchanging kind words and helping each other as they go about their day. Our additional monthly character traits are:

  • October: Perseverance
  • November: Mindfulness
  • December: Creativity
  • January: Courage
  • February: Respect
  • March: Citizenship
  • April: Curiosity
  • May: Integrity
  • June: Flexibility

At Renaissance School, we strive to create global citizens. We know that by teaching and modeling these character traits, we bring our students even closer to this goal.
