Since starting first grade at the Renaissance School, my daughter has flourished both academically and socially. She has gained confidence in speaking with elders and does so in a respectful and polite manner. She is enthusiastic about going to school each day. I have also seen a huge shift of interest in her choices for free time- more time spent outside and less time asking to watch T.V. Learning on the farm is a magical hands on engaging experience!

As parents, we wanted our children to be in an environment that was not only full of learning, but kindness and a strong sense of community. We have been very happy with our choice to send our children to Renaissance.

The Renaissance School continues to exceed our expectations and to surpass our hopes for our children’s elementary education. The school’s immersion in farm life at Shelburne Farms enriches the curriculum with farm-based activities and tremendous outside time in the Farm’s majestic setting. The teachers are amazingly caring and committed to their students and families and the school’s arts, foreign languages, literacy, and science programs are unmatched. Renaissance also focuses on growing character, confidence, citizenship, and love of learning, which we see in our children every day.

It is with profound sadness that we left the Renaissance School in Vermont this year and yet with prodigious joy that we have made our new home Paris.

On the occasion of Charlotte’s first day at a French school today, we reminisce about the singular culture found at the Renaissance School, one founded on humanist values and emphasising the worth of human beings. Charlotte’s heart is essentially woven from the Renaissance School fabric and as a result her self-respect, self-esteem, and self-worth have flourished. There she has developed an ability and a responsibility for the greater good, which engendered a child that deeply cares about people’s welfare and whom demonstrates a comprehensive social consciousness.

Our family has been both touched and blessed by Heartworks and The Renaissance School: In the last six years we have watched our daughter metamorphose from a chrysalis into a unique butterfly. Incontestably, she will miss going to her preferred school this year, being with her most cherished teachers and schoolmates, and being surrounded by such great natural beauty and love.

We have Lisa Zengilowski and Paul Zengilowski as well as all the fabulous teachers and staff at The Renaissance School we had the privilege to experience throughout the years to thank for a lifetime of memories. Thank you everyone for such wonderful formative years.
